Everwind Server Types Explained

Not sure which Everwind server type is right for you? This guide breaks down every game mode — Survival, PvP, Roleplay, Creative, and more — so you can find your fit.

Understanding Everwind Server Types

One of Everwind's greatest strengths is its flexibility. Server owners can configure their worlds to support wildly different play styles, and the community has settled into several distinct server types over the years. Understanding these categories will help you find a server that matches exactly how you want to play.

Survival PvE

Best for: Players who enjoy building, exploring, and cooperative gameplay

Survival PvE servers are the most popular type in the Everwind community. PvP is either fully disabled or restricted to opt-in arenas, so you can focus on what the game does best: exploring a dangerous world, gathering resources, and building impressive bases without fear of other players destroying your work.

On these servers, the main challenges come from the environment itself — harsh weather, dangerous creatures, and the mysterious Windshift events that reshape the landscape. Many PvE servers organize group expeditions into high-level dungeons, making them a great choice for players who enjoy teamwork.

What to expect: - Cooperative community atmosphere - No base raiding or involuntary PvP - Organized dungeon runs and boss fights - Building-focused gameplay with protection rules

PvP / Raiding

Best for: Competitive players who thrive on high-stakes gameplay

PvP servers enable full player-versus-player combat and base raiding. Everything you build can be attacked, and everything you carry can be looted. These servers attract players who enjoy the adrenaline of constant threat and the satisfaction of outplaying opponents.

Most PvP servers have raid windows — specific times when base raiding is allowed — to prevent offline raiding and give defenders a fair chance. Some servers go fully hardcore with no restrictions at all.

What to expect: - Full-loot PvP everywhere on the map - Base raiding during designated windows - Clan warfare and territory control - Higher risk, higher reward gameplay

Roleplay (RP)

Best for: Creative players who enjoy storytelling and immersive experiences

Roleplay servers add a layer of structured narrative to Everwind. Players create characters with names, backstories, and motivations, and they interact with others in character at all times in public spaces. These servers often feature custom lore that expands on Everwind's existing world-building.

RP servers are typically moderated more heavily than other types. You will usually need to submit a character application before being allowed to play, and there are strict rules about breaking character, meta-gaming, and power-gaming.

What to expect: - Character applications and lore requirements - In-character interactions and storytelling - Staff-run events and plot lines - Custom mods for clothing, emotes, and world-building

Creative / Building

Best for: Builders and architects who want unlimited creative freedom

Creative servers strip away survival mechanics and give players unlimited resources. The focus is entirely on building — whether that means constructing massive castles, designing intricate redstone contraptions, or recreating real-world landmarks in the Everwind engine.

Some creative servers hold build competitions with themes and prizes, making them a great place to showcase your skills and get inspiration from other talented builders.

What to expect: - Unlimited resources and no survival mechanics - Plot-based building systems - Community build competitions - Showcase worlds to display your creations

Hardcore Survival

Best for: Experienced players looking for an extreme challenge

Hardcore servers crank up the difficulty. Resource rates are lower, creatures are stronger, weather is deadlier, and death often carries severe penalties like skill loss or longer respawn timers. Some hardcore servers add permadeath — when you die, your character is gone forever.

These servers are not for everyone, but for players who have mastered standard survival, they offer a genuinely thrilling experience where every decision matters.

What to expect: - Increased difficulty across all mechanics - Harsh death penalties or permadeath - Smaller, tight-knit communities - Intense sense of accomplishment

Modded Servers

Best for: Players who want expanded content and new mechanics

Many Everwind servers run extensive mod packs that add new crafting systems, creatures, biomes, magic systems, and quality-of-life improvements. Modded servers can combine elements from multiple server types — for example, a modded PvE server with custom dungeons and a new magic system.

Check each server's description for mod requirements. Most modded servers provide easy-to-install mod packs or use automatic mod downloading when you connect.

What to expect: - Expanded content beyond the base game - New mechanics, items, and creatures - May require downloading mod packs before connecting - Unique experiences you will not find in vanilla Everwind

Finding Your Fit

The best way to find the right server type is to think about what you enjoy most in games. Do you want to build in peace? Try a PvE or Creative server. Crave competition? Jump into PvP. Want to tell stories? Roleplay servers are calling.
